Six Nations of the Grand River

Our History

Under the direction of Six Nations of the Grand River Elected Council the 1995 established Six Nations Tourism manages two historical sites and a park with cabin accommodations and river access within our community and is a Destination Marketing Organization (DMO) for the most populated First Nation in Canada. Six Nations Tourism is dedicated to educating visitors, marketing and promoting small businesses, events, sites and attractions in order to vitalize economic growth throughout Six Nations of the Grand River.

Join us on a trip throughout Six Nations to learn about Haudenosaunee history and culture!

A Day Of Play

Tour Chiefswood National Historic Site which is the childhood home of E. Pauline Johnson. Learn about the dual heritage represented at the Johnson family homestead and the famous poetess Pauline.

On The Water

Begin your day by arriving at Chiefswood Park located along the banks of the Grand River. You will meet your canoe guide and start off by discussing the Haudenosaunee Thanksgiving Address which will provide understanding around our belief system. 

Romantic Couples Retreat

Arrive at Chiefswood Park around 10:30 and begin your day featuring a host of various activities. Archery, Snow Shoeing, Kayaking and Canoeing as well as hiking along our Carolinian Nature Trail.

Tours (Guided)

Explore one of our historic sites or museums, or embrace adventure with our canoeing and kayaking experiences, along with augmented and virtual reality options.
